Rockin Chicken Dish

Dinner June 1st::
First I made a succotash from frozen Green Giant lima beans and Whole Foods frozen sweet corn. That sweet corn is awesome i highly recomend it. It is frozen in season from really good corn and is almost like eating good Jersey corn in season.
Need to experiment more with the succotash, first time I made it.

The chicken I made was so tasty and I will make it again soon.
Kosher boneless skinless chicken breasts are split in halh to make a pocket.
Then I put salt and pepper, fresh thyme and a half of a lemon squeezed.
I let that sit for about an hour. I put the oven at about 375 F. Inside the chix I bought that good goat cheese Ryan brought from CT. The cheese was very tangy lke you would expect, put tasty none the less. I folded them over and put breadcrumbs and butter on top. baked for abou 25 minutes then put more frsh thyme on top.
It was ridculously good.

Snack::
I was bryers again with Hershey's. Hard to say no when it is in the freezer.

June 2nd breakfast::

Tropicana OJ mini.

Java's Brewin' Dark Roast and a chocolate chip muffin, which was a little dry, but had decent chips in it.

Lunch::

Lenny's Original Hot Dog! They have been around since 1932. Mean ass hot dogs for $2 I got one with brown mustard and one with Sweet Pepper Hash which is a classic Philadelphia condiment for over 200 years but only 2 or 3 guys even make it any more.
It wasn't what i expected. Light and sweet and an excellent hotdog topping not wet and oily like I expected at all. And a bottled water.

One regular old banana.

June 1st 2009 Food Saga Continuation

Not much time to post...so here we go...

Breakfast::
Greek yogurt 2 % with honey. Kashi Bar peanut butter flavor, chewy style.
Mini Tropicana OJ. Strawberries, not as good as last week, from Cali but there season must be over...

Lunch::
We tried these new chips made from hummus. Mistake they are like eating air and have zero flavor and are no better for you than even Utz or any major brand Baked style chips. Good Boars Head turkey and Honeycup mustard on a steak roll from altamonte's.
Nice and tasty. Musslemans, nothing added, apple sauce. Would like some chocolate now, but don't have any. Oh well. Dinner will be interesting ob the grill check back later. Also water as a drink for lunch. No beer. Work. Boo.

First Entry

I am creating this blog because I want to document everything I eat.
I will docunment where the food came from (store, country, local etc.)and will also try and upload pictures of said food and drink.

Sunday May 31st 2009.

Morning::
Big glass of 100% juice cranberry from Apple and Eve.
Trader Joes bacon Kenny brought last weekend. It is OK not much smoke flavor and kind of thin. Homeade French toast with whole wheat 12 grain bread. In the the egg batter was freshly grated cinnamon, vanilla extract and a pinch of brown sugar.

Lunch::I carmelized some vidalia onions...mmmmm. I made cheeseteaks from real rib-eye steak cut thin and purchased from Altamonte's in Warminster. The steak is unbelievable. It is not the chopped and fromed crap you always get from pizza and hoagie shops now-a-days. We used the good rolls from Altamonte's as well and some boars head american cheese. Oh so nice.

Snacking while Julie on phone::I dipped into some spreadable goat cheese that Ryan(my brother) brought down from Connecticut last weekend. They bought it at a local goat farm in I think Torrington, CT. I ate this cheese on some Wheat Thins.

Dinner::I fired up my grill. A Weber Summit 420 Natural Gas all stainless. I had it to hot and it reached over 700 degrees F.
Whoops.
Anywho I grilled some yellow squash which was flavorless, but edible.
Also, I grilled some wild Sea Scallops vfrom George's which were the real deal, super sweet and fresh. I marinated them for a few hours in fresh lime juice, olive oil and salt and peppers. They stuck to the grill, but I was able to salvage them and they were awesome.

Dessert::
I had a bowl of Breyers chocolate and vanilla ice cream w/ Hershey's Chocolate Sauce.
Breyers is not the same as it was just a few years ago.
